The Newest Voice at Plant With Purpose
Written by Kenzie Leas on January 22, 2013 in General
Next time you call Plant With Purpose, you may have the pleasure of speaking to Kenzie Klinger. Our newest staff member brings great enthusiasm, a contagious optimism, and an enormous heart to the Administrative and Internship Coordinator position. Read on to hear more about Kenzie and help us welcome her to the team!
If you would have asked me 10 years ago what I would be doing with my life, I would have told you, “Traveling the world to hang-out with children in developing countries.” Well, I guess my 13-year-old, post-mission-trip self wasn’t too far fetched!
I reign from the grandiose state of Indiana (INSERT CORN PIC HERE), born and raised, with a boundless curiosity for adventure, to grow, and tofollow my passions. As a gluten-free, vegetarian, tea-loving, sunshine-craving, outdoor runner, hiker, and adventurer, the 15-degree, lip-chapping winters, chain restaurants on every corner, and lack of diverse terrain didn’t quite agree with the lifestyle I had in mind for my twenties. So, after graduating in May 2012 from Indiana University with a degree in Nonprofit Management, Spanish, and Business Foundations, I stuffed my suitcases full and soared westward to The Golden State to make all of my dreams come true!
With a background in nonprofits, PR, event coordination, and development, I found this position at Plant With Purpose to be the perfect bonding agent for my career and My Life Story: Chapter Two. I am beyond excited to support the many avenues of this amazing organization and creatively expand the Plant With Purpose internship program. Investing, encouraging, and cultivating an atmosphere for interns to discover the full potential of their passions, talents, and skills makes my heart do a little dance.
I feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of this team and to play a small part in further developing the incredible three-fold work we do to help communities around the globe.
I am available by phone, email, or homing pigeon to support the Plant With Purpose mission, on-board and hang out with interns, jog along Sunset Cliffs, embark on culinary adventures, chat about my passion for child adoption, make jewelry, listen/dance/sing to new tunes, get crafty, and possibly attempt surfing again!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope I have the pleasure to talk to all of you, the Plant With Purpose supporters soon.
Leave a comment to welcome Kenzie!
